Arlene B. Manowski
87, Wausau, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born August 18, 1925 in Marathon City, daughter of the late Frank and Erna (Buchberger) Gassner. On November 27, 1948, she married Leonard Manowski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2004.
Arlene worked for Marathon Electric, then worked as a technician in the EKG Department at Aspirus Wausau Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Wausau.
Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, reading and golfing. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and feeding all the animals in her neighborhood.
Survivors include, two children, Bob (Kim) Manowski and Mary (Scott) Guldan, both of Wausau; two grandchildren, Katie Manowski, Milwaukee and Matthew Manowski, Minneapolis, Minn.; one step-granddaughter, Pauline Cleveland, Wausau; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Leonard, she was preceded in death by one son, Jim; one daughter-in-law, Jayne; and twin sons, Jeff and Jim.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2013 at The Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Timothy Welles will preside. Friends may call on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to her family or the Marathon County Humane Society.
