Arlene Kluever

March 3, 1936 — January 30, 2019

Wausau

Arlene Kluever passed away peacefully on January 30th, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family.

Arlene was born March 3, 1936 in Wausau to Anthony and Adeline Borski.  In her junior year of high school she met the love of her life, Roger.  She graduated from Wausau High in 1954, after graduation she worked at WI Public Service.  During this time she awaited Roger’s return from 2 years in the Army.  One month after his return they were married at St. Paul’s Church on February 16th, 1957.  Arlene really enjoyed being a stay at home mom, and once their two daughters started school, she began her 26 year career as a bookkeeper for Grebe’s and Ace Plumbing.

As a family they enjoyed camping, attending Roger’s many baseball games, and all of the many family get-togethers.  One of Arlene’s favorite things to do was to babysit, and over the years she took care of the children of many dear families.  Arlene and Roger along with several of their friends traveled to many states and took a beautiful cruise to Alaska.  Amazing memories were made at their cottage on Clear Lake in Tomahawk.  Their entire family enjoyed fishing, swimming and the pontoon rides to enjoy the beautiful sunsets.  Arlene was also blessed with three grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart.

Arlene is survived by her husband Roger of 61 years.  Daughters, Kathy (Dick) Martens, Merrill.  Their children, Jessica and Brandon Martell, Minneapolis, and Ben and McKenah Martens, Merrill.  Daughter Sandy (Dale) Schwede, Wausau, and Sandy’s son Matt Arndt, Wausau.  She is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Jackie Schwede and Clayton Schwede both of Wausau, along with many relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Adeline Borski, brother Ronald and Richard Borski, her sister Joyce (Andy) Macko, Detroit, her in-laws Walter and Bertha Kluever, and many other relatives.

Services will be held on Monday February 4th at Highland Community Church, 1005 N. 28th Avenue, Wausau.  Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., service starts at 11:00 a.m. and a lunch to follow, all at the church.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on the Aspirus Palliative Care Unit for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Arlene.

Memorial donations may be made to the family for a future memorial to be set up at a later date.

Mom reminded all of us to never lose sight of what is important in life…Family.
