Arlene M. Bloch
90, Wausau, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born May 22, 1920 in Cazenovia, daughter of the late Frederick and Marcella (Jax) Keller. On June 5, 1942 she married Edwin Bloch. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1979.
Arlene worked as a secretary for Holy Name School for 31 years and was a volunteer for St. Catherine's Council and the Catholic Women's Club. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1947 and was also a member of the United Commercial Travelers of America. Arlene enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing her favorite numbers of 5, 6, 7 in Pick 3, watching CNN, the Brewers and the Packers. She also enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, quilting and reading. Arlene recently enjoyed celebrating her 90th birthday with her family.
Survivors include her two sons, Ronald (Sharon A.) Bloch and Bruce (Sharon K.) Bloch, both of Wausau; one daughter, Cheryl (Randal) Oswald, Green Bay; nine grandchildren, Thomas Bloch, Jill Strachota, Bob Bloch, Robert J. Bloch, Amy Kluetz, Carey Traska, Kendra Pemrich, Jamie McGowan and Abby Risic; eleven great grandchildren, Garret and Halie Strachota, Garitt Bloch, Benjamin Kluetz, Alexis, Kayleigh and Lily Traska, Tommy, Amanda, Corrine and Liz Bloch; two sisters, Marcella (Gilbert) Krenz, Oregon, Wis. and Jeanette Rose, Reedsburg; one sister-in-law, Margaret Alf, Ripon, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Leonard and Bernard Keller, one sister, Marjorie Garvin and a grandson, John Kluetz.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Gerald Pehler O.F.M. Cap. will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
