Arden "Ardie" Tesch

February 25, 1951 — November 4, 2014

Arden "Ardie" Tesch lost his courageous battle with respiratory difficulties Wednesday evening November 4th. His survivors include his mother, Betty Tesch, sister, Terri (Gene) Zunker, brothers, Alan (Lynn) Tesch, Jeffrey (Patty) Tesch and Scott (Victoria) Tesch. He has six nephews and one niece. He also has a number of great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Tesch. Ardie was afflicted with Cerebral Palsy since birth and was never able to walk, feed himself or take care of himself. Our Mom and Dad took care of him without exception. Ardie was never excluded from any activity in the family and traveled all over the United States with our family and later with Mom and Dad. He was always included in activities, trips, and outings with his family and later on with his friends. Ardie also would go to Camp Wabeek in Wisconsin Dells on a yearly basis. There are pictures of Ardie with Vegas show girls and dancing girls on a cruise. He always had an eye for the ladies. He attended school in Green Bay for a number of years and also had a home school teacher that would come to the house and worked to obtain his school diploma. When Ardie got older and got an independent streak, he moved into a number of care facilities and group homes including living over in Lacrosse Wisconsin. His immediate and extended family loved to talk and visit with Ardie. He had a wonderful sense of humor, liked to tease, and was quick to laugh. His nephews have been heard to say he was a great uncle. Ardie was really dealt a difficult hand in life with his disability and had a couple fights with cancer and other health issues. He was a fighter all of his life, but lost his battle with respiratory issues at the age of 63. He taught us all to value what we have been given in life and how to treat others who are less fortunate than ourselves. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5304 N. 44th Avenue, Wausau. Rev. Dan Sire will officiate. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. A special thanks goes out to all his caregivers over the years especially his long-term care giver and friend, Reva and previous caregiver, Courtney. The family would also like to thank Wausau Aspirus Palliative Care unit, especially Nurse Kari, who was with Ardie and his family at the end. We could not have asked for better care for our brother Ardie. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please direct donations to Opportunity Inc. Therens Place and please remember to support programs to provide funding to the unselfish caregivers and for the least among us. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
