Anton J. Engman

Anton J. Engman, 93, Wausau, died Thursday January 10, 2002 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Schofield. He was born July 17, 1908 in Wausau, son of the late John and Anna (Nightengale) Engman. On January 11, 1927, he married Gertrude Koback in Wausau. She preceded him in death on November 9, 1990. Anton was a machinist for 23 years with the former Marathon Corporation and had worked at Snapp Electric. He farmed in the Halder area and owned a tavern in Weston. After retirement he enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include his sons, Roger (Linda) Engman, E. Palatka, Fla., Scott Engman, Wausau; daughters Evelyn (LeRoy) Mischock, Wausau, Phyllis (Lloyd) Burgoyne, Hatley, Elaine Butt, Athens; 28 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren; a brother Richard (Joann) Engman, Wausau; and sisters, Ella Younger, Wi. Rapids, Theresa (William) Messenberg, Wausau, and Mary Kading, Marshfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons Donald, Anthony, Jr., LeRoy, and a daughter Angeline. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday January 14, 2002 at the Church Of The Resurrection Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. The Rev. Stephen Gross will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call Sunday 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
