Anthony "Tony" Marvin Jr., 71, Wausau, died Sunday September 14, 2014 at North Central Health Care Facilities, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born March 31, 1943, in Wausau, son of the late Anthony Sr. and Isabelle (Zieglmeier) Marvin. He was a veteran of the US Army serving with the Second Engineer Company.
For many years, Tony had been employed at Plant Tire Shop and later worked as a security guard at Washington Square. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed at Powder Technology. Among his favorite past times, he enjoyed watching NASCAR races and following the Brewers and Packers. He also enjoyed camping and recording old music records on to CDs.
Survivors include his sister, Florence Marvin, Wausau, a special friend of the family, Dorothy Schumacher, Wausau, other relatives and friends.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday September 18, 2014 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Matthew Marshall will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, where full military honors will be conducted by members of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
