Anthony Marcis, Jr

Anthony "Tony" Marcis, Jr., 92, Wausau, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at St. Clares Hospital, Weston. He was born October 19, 1916 in Chicago, son of the late Anthony and Anna Marcis. On August 24, 1940, he married Lucille Pope. She preceded him in death August 5, 1999. Tony owned and operated an auto mechanic shop. Later he worked at Wausau Papers, Brokaw until retirement. He enjoyed fishing walleye and trout streams, dancing polkas, hunting, sports and racing. He also enjoyed building race car engines for his sons and grandsons. Survivors include two sons, Donald (Carol) Marcis, Wausau, Dave (Helen) Marcis, Skyland, N.C., one daughter, Toni (Paul) Seccomb, Butte, Mont., six grandchildren, Shawn (Sam) Beam, Arden, N.C., Richard (Koloma) Marcis, Detroit, M.I., William Marcis, Wausau, Robert Marcis, Lexington, N.C., Dylan (Ann) Shaw, Alabama, Morgan (T.J.) McKenzie, California; nine great grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Dr. James Engel will officiate. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum at Restlawn Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
