Anthony Essex

Anthony "Jack" Essex, 71, passed away May 5, 2012, at his home in Wausau, WI, of a heart attack. He was born June 29, 1940, the son of John M. and Helen (Inda) Essex in the town of Bevent. He was married to Mary (Rozmenoski) on September 3, 1960, in Bevent. Jack was a devoted husband, loving father, and adoring grandfather. A friend to all, he was active in his community with the Elks Lodge #248, St. Michael Church, and volunteering at the Grand Theatre. An avid collector of John Deere memorabilia, he also enjoyed cooking and baking and often shared his freshly-made goods with friends and neighbors. Jack graduated from Rosholt High School (1958) and North Central Technical School (1961) with a degree in accounting and had a career as an accountant and insurance agent before retiring early due to health issues. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary (Rozmenoski) Essex; son Gregory (Sara Froelich) Essex and their son, Malcolm, Mosinee; daughters Laurie (Paul) Buss, Menomonee Falls, and Sara (Betsy Mulcahy) Essex, DeForest; granddaughter, Alissa Knutson, Balgowlah, Australia. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald (Christine) Essex, Saint Francis; sister Phyllis (Norbert) Felhofer, Marshfield; mother-in-law, Mayme (Ernest) Rozmenoski; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol & Roger Ewan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Heinen, sister Joan Braatz, brother James Essex, father-in-law Ernest Rozmenoski, and brother-in-law Ernie Rozmenoski, Jr. Funeral services will be held at St. Michael Church, 611 Stark St. Wausau, on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00pm followed by funeral mass at 6:00pm. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Private burial will be in St. Ladislaus Cemetery, Bevent, on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St Michael Catholic Church, Wausau or St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent.
