Anne M. Knauf
83, Wausau, died Wednesday January 22, 2003 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
She was born January 10, 1920 in Bevent, daughter of the late Stanley and Frances (Jeske) Zyduck. On June 30, 1941 she married Bernard C. Knauf at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1993.
After their marriage, Anne and Bernard owned and operated a grocery store in Birnamwood for 25 years. Later, they assisted their son at Michael's Candy Store. Anne was a homemaker and enjoyed needlework, especially, sewing and crocheting. Anne's sense of love, caring and concern extended into all areas of home and family and no one ever left her home hungry.
Survivors include a daughter, Polly Anne Knauf, Wausau, three sons, Kenneth (Gayle) Knauf, Newton, John (Diane) Knauf and Michael Knauf, all of Wausau, four grandchildren, Kimberly (Kevin Delforge) Knauf, Green Bay, Brian (Casey Dixon) Knauf, Columbus, Miss., Michelle (Ryan) Check, Maple Grove, Minn., Michael Knauf, Colorado Springs, Colo., one sister, Mary Jane Pashelk, Wausau. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Peter Joseph Knauf, six brothers, Felix, Joe, Ed, Al, Harry and Richard and four sisters, Tillie, Virginia, Emily and her twin sister, Agnes.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Entombment will be in the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
