Anne L. Birkholz

Anne L. Birkholz 71, Wausau, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House, Wausau. She was born September 27, 1936 in Wausau, daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (Sniegoski) Jakubowski. On August 24, 1963 she married Thomas Birkholz at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2006. Anne worked at Marathon Electric for many years, becoming a member of the Quarter Century Club. She enjoyed sewing and collecting antiques. Survivors include her sisters, Virginia (Morris) Buchholz, Manteno, Ill., Mary (Fabian "Buck") Stachowiak, Wausau and Margaret "Margie" (Eugene "Pete") Peterson, Wausau; sister-in-law, Fern (Mike) Esselman, Wausau; niece and special friend, Merry (Lee) Malak, Tomahawk; special friend, Marlene Mead, Wausau. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Thomas. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. The Rev. Gerald Pehler O.F.M. Cap. will preside. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Father Pehler for his spiritual guidance, the staff of Hospice House for their compassion and also to Anne's nieces and nephews who showed her extra love and care throughout the years.
