Anna Mary Holzem

Anna Mary Holzem 99, Wausau, went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 10, 2008. She had resided at Marywood Convalescent Center for most of the past two years. She was born August 26, 1908 on the Northwest side of Wausau known as Parcherville, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Woitkievicz) Lenard. On September 4, 1928 she married Francis Gregory Holzem. He preceded her in death in 1973. Anna was a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Mary's Roman Catholic Oratory where she was also a member of the ladies circle and Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. She was loved by everyone she met and will be remembered for her kind, gentle nature. She was the beloved mother of Frank (Joan) Holzem, Lake Wissota, Alice Tucker, Wausau, Janice Hilber, Arlington, Texas and Dennis Holzem, Wausau; 20 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Lenard, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Sybilla (Leonard) Sperberg, Chicago, Marion (Joseph) Lenard, Wausau and Arlene (Stanley) Lenard; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Francis, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Holzem. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. The Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Anna's family would like to thank the staff at Marywood Convalescent Center for their kind and loving care, also the Visiting Nurses Association for taking care of her while she was living at home, especially Nancy Pflieger who not only took care of our mother but became her special friend.
