Ann L. Traska

Ann L. Traska 88, formerly of Wausau, died Friday January 20, 2012 at University Hospital, Madison. She was born August 19, 1923, in Aniwa, daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Resch) Sippl. On June 26, 1952 she married Wilfred Traska at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death. Ann had been employed at the Wagon Wheel Supper Club, The Mint CafAC., the Evergreen Supper Club and the Central CafAC.. Later, she had been involved in day care. For over 30 years, Ann had been a member of the Wausau Senior Choir. She was affectionately known as their "flower lady" for bringing bouquets to the nursing homes where they sang to brighten the spirits of those celebrating birthdays and special occasions. Among her favorite pastimes were cooking, baking and flower gardening. Survivors include two sons, Michael (Marcia) Traska, McFarland; Daniel (Della Warren) Traska, International Falls, Minn., three grandchildren, Keith (Kay) Traska, Heather Traska, Rotasha Warren; three great grandchildren, Stryker, Peytra and Zion; one sister-in-law, Jeanette Sippl. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph (Delores) Sippl, Mary (Frank) Beran, William (LaVerne) Sippl, Bertha (Lawrence) Schmidt, Irene (Joseph) Kriha and Edward Sippl. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 28, 2012 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
