Ann V. Newton, 97, Wausau, formerly of Illinois, died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Wausau.
She was born February 4, 1917 in Chicago, daughter of the late Walter and Mary Skodis. On April 13, 1935, she married Albert Newton in Wayne City, Michigan. He preceded her in death.
Ann worked as a secretary for the Western Electric Company for many years.
Survivors include, one son, Albert Jr. (Marilyn) Newton, Elberton, GA; one daughter-in-law, Becky Newton, Tomahawk, WI; seven grandchildren, Marianne (Jason) Suelzer-Wunsch, Wausau, WI, Gregory (Liz) Suelzer, Milwaukee, WI., Kim (Jim) Gara, Brookfield, IL, Pam (Bret) Kooi, Lockport, IL, Sandy Pothast, Brookfield, IL, Eric (Karen) Newton, Elk Grove Village, IL and Todd (Marcie) Newton, Tampa FL; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Albert Sr., she was preceded in death by two children, J.R. Newton and Marilyn Suelzer; and two sisters, Mary Stephen and Estelle Powell.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Oakridge-Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside, IL.
