Ann Marie Francis

Ann Marie Francis 89, Wausau crossed over Monday, February 15, 2010 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. Ann was born to Jim and Ida (Causeman) Zajicek on September 26, 1920 in Chicago. Ann was an Army Corporal veteran serving her country from 1942 to 1945. She worked for most of her life as a switchboard receptionist. Survivors include her two daughters, Sherry (Paul) Zopel, Wausau and Karen (James Wood) O'Malley, Mosinee, seven grandchildren, Wendy Zopel, Santa Monica, California, Justin (Alex) Zopel, Weston, Adam (Mariana) Zopel, Wasilla, Alaska and Allison Zopel, Eugene, Oregon, Dawn Sanchez, Lyons, Illinois, Susan O'Malley, Mosinee and James O'Malley, Schofield; two great grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer Sanchez, Lyons, Illinois. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard and Buddy Zajicek; and one sister, Nora Zajicek. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
