Anita C. Jagodinski
77, Marathon, died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
She was born March 30, 1930 in Marathon, daughter of the late John and Ramona (Dahlke) Kamenick. On May 12, 1949, she married Erwin Jagodinski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He survives.
Anita was a cook at St. Mary's School, Marathon and later at the Rose Garden, Wausau.
In her later years, she worked for the St. Anthony Retreat Center, Marathon until her retirement. Following retirement, she went back to work for the Rose Garden. She was very active in many church activities including, singing with the church choir, a Eucharistic Minister, served on the Pastoral Council, taught high school religion classes and was involved in making many of the seasonal banners for the church.
Anita volunteered many hours as a Cub Scout Leader in the Samoset Council, serving as Den Leader, Den Leader Coach and as a Cub Scout Roundtable Staff Member. During this time, she earned many awards, including the Wood Badge and Silver Beaver, being the first woman recipient of this award in Samoset Council. Among her many interests, she enjoyed camping, cooking, baking, especially her Christmas stolen and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include, her husband, Erwin Jagodinski, Marathon; six children, Kay (Carl) Handrick, Darien, Wis., Tom (Linda) Jagodinski, Wausau, Dick Jagodinski, Marathon, Chuck Jagodinski, Marathon, John (Gloria) Jagodinski, Wausau and Becky (Steve) Krautkramer, Marathon; 11 grandchildren, Sheila, Chris (Kay), Todd (Jenni) and Marsha Handrick, Lizzie, Phil, Alonna, Mitch and Haley Jagodinski, and Mackenzie and Hunter Krautkramer; six great-grandchildren, Mark, Erick, Connor, Keegan, Kaden and Sage Handrick; five sisters, Ethel Masanz, Florence Wallace, Eileen St. Pierre, Genny (Bud) Joswiak and Izzy (Jim) Happli; two brothers, Duane (Audrey) Kamenick and Rudy (Nancy) Kamenick; two sisters-in-law, Joan (Ken) Weisenberger and Carol (Ed) Gesicki; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Bev) Koss and Bill Wehva; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Koss and Lucille Wehba and one brother, John Kamenick Jr.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call Sunday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until services, all at the church. There will be a parish rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Clare's Hospital for the care and support given to Anita and her family during her last day's with us.
