Angeline Kumbera

Angeline M. Kumbera, 88, Wausau died Monday December 1, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born January 22, 1926, in Wausau, daughter of the late Hilmer and Odile (Kieffer) Boerke. On June 1, 1946, she married Eugene W. Kumbera in Wausau. Angeline graduated from Wausau Senior High School and worked at the Grand Theater. To her family and friends, Angeline was known as "Nubby". She was the receptionist at Wausau Metals. Family meant everything to Angeline and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. The Kumberas were charter members of St Matthew's Catholic Church. After retirement they enjoyed traveling, spending winters at their trailer in Fort Meyers Florida or with their daughter in Phoenix, Arizona. They also enjoyed spending time at the cottage they built on Silver Lake. Through the years, Angeline and Eugene were avid Packer fans. Survivors include three children, Mary Jo (James) Tilton, Wausau, Jeanne (Stan) Coppins, Sun City, Ariz., Jon (Kathy) Kumbera, Wausau, 11 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Barbara Boerke, Madison and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, George, Hilmer Jr. and James Boerke and sisters, Edna Boerke, Imogene Boerke and Theresa Griffin. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Friday December 5, 2014 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Alan T. Burkhardt will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
