Angela A. Schilling

Angela "Angie" A. Schilling, 95, Marathon, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born December 10, 1917 in Festina, Iowa, daughter of the late Bernard and Catherine (Brincks) Lechtenberg. Angela married her first husband, Bernard Schwamman on April 26, 1938 in Festina, Iowa, and married her second husband, Marvin Schilling on May 30, 1964 in Marathon. Both have preceded her in death. Angela was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon and was involved with many church activities, including, singing in the church choir and a member of the PCCW. She also enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary's School and the St. Anthony Retreat Center, Marathon and was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting and making baby quilts for missions. Survivors include, four children, Roger (Peggy) Schwamman, Kronenwetter, Gerald (Lois) Schwamman, Kronenwetter, Elaine (Curt) Fuhro, Cedar Park, Tex. and Norma (Tom) Mroczenski, Edgar; one son-in-law, Bob Grube, Cresco, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Javina) Lechtenberg, Lawler, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Grube; two grandchildren, Brian and Amy Mroczenski; six brothers; and one sister. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.
