Andrew H. Haase

Andrew H. Haase, 95, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Pride TLC, Weston, under the care of St. Croix Hospice.

He was born on June 21, 1929 in the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County, to the late Andrew and Hazel (Hoppe) Haase.  Andrew married Leona B. Wadinski on November 26, 1949 in Milwaukee and she preceded him in death in 2015.

Andy graduated from Nathan Hale Senior High School in West Allis and later successfully completed the Principles of Police Management course at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois in 1967.  He was a 37-year Veteran of the City of Wausau Police Department.  Over the course of his career, he moved through the ranks and retired in 1988 as Inspector of Police.  Andy’s interests included his family and all of their activities, tending to his beautiful yard, using his impressive construction skills to build three beautiful homes, and always finding time to help family and friends with their projects.

Survivors include his sons, James (Jill) Haase and Mark (Melinda) Haase; grandchildren, Jessica (William) Sands, Christopher (Theresa) Haase, Sarah (Greg) Laubmeier, Stephanie (Patrick) Lindsley, Matthew (Abbey) Haase, and Megan Haase; great-grandchildren, Kayla (Cameron) Skabroud, Dylan Sands, Miles Haase, Elliot Haase, Quentin Haase, Cora Haase, Aiden Laubmeier, and Quinn Laubmeier; and brother, Gerald (Andrea) Haase.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Haase; parents, Andrew and Hazel; great-grandchildren, twins, Caitlyn and Grace Haase; brothers, Harvey (Gloria) Haase and Walter (Margaret) Haase; sisters, Melva (Henry) Schmitt and Joyce (Maynard) Schimke; and brothers-in-law, William (Betty) Wadinski and James (Mildred) Wadinski.
