Ana Iheadindu

Ana Iheadindu was born on July 12, 1951 in the town of Islaz, Romania. She was raised most of her life in Galați, Romania, in the loving family of Ioana and Dumitru. Growing up, everyone who knew and loved her caller her Tanța. In fact, she only learned her name was Ana when it was time to start first grade in school. She was a studious child and an avid reader. From a young age, she knew she wanted to be a doctor. She graduated high school at the top of her class and became the first in her family to attend university. She left her hometown to attend medical school in Bucharest, where she met her husband, Christian Azubuike Iheadindu. They married and had two children, Ucechukwu and Christiana Loredana. Her husband’s life ended early, in a tragic car accident, when Ana was still carrying their second child. While overcoming unimaginable trials, Ana raised her two children beautifully, in a loving family that never stopped honoring her husband’s memory.

Ana worked for many years as an ophthalmologist in Romania, helping to save and restore vision to countless people. When she retired, she moved to the United States to be close to her children. She created wonderful memories here with her family, which now included her daughter- and son-in-law, Asia and Zachary. As a retiree, she loved to travel the world and spend time with her friends, whom she always kept in touch with. She also loved cooking and found an avid passion in Sudoku. But her most favorite activity was being a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren, Sophia, Adalyn, Adrian, and Talia, who will miss her dearly.

Too many friends and family to name have flooded us with love and support since her passing on March 15, 2024. We are grateful to know that our mother and grandmother was a treasure to so many.

Ana's life will be honored on March 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Kursk Icon of the Mother of God Orthodox Mission at 133010 Countryside Dr., Edgar, WI, 54426. She will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
