Alvin F. Jarchow
76, 3810 Henry St. Wausau passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 7, 2001 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at his home.
Alvin was born January 1, 1925 in the Town of Greenwood, Taylor County, son of the late William and Hannah (Scheithauer) Jarchow. He married Rose Dallman October 13, 1956 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. She preceded him in death July 16, 1974. Alvin then married Judith Dake June 5, 1993 in Wausau. She survives.
Alvin was a machinist at Bucyrus-Erie in South Milwaukee until 1973. He then was employed at Murray Machine, Wausau Municipal Airport and City Hall as a maintenance worker until his retirement in 1989. Alvin enjoyed watching baseball and racing, playing cards, woodworking and remodeling.
He was a United States Army veteran, serving in World War II, while stationed in the Philippines.
Besides his wife, Judy Jarchow, Wausau, Alvin is survived by his daughter, Linda (Tom) Niziolek, Mosinee, 2 grandchildren, Andrea and Eric Niziolek, step-children, Jennie Marco, Jodie Fraley and Joe Dake, 7 step-grandchildren, Jamie, Stephen, Stephanie, Amanda, Jeremy, Mathew, and Heather, 1 brother, Clifford Jarchow, and 3 sisters, Viola Scholz, Myrtle Gebauer and Helen Russ, all of Rib Lake.
Besides his first wife, Rose, and his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Esther Judnic and Ruth Shadrick.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2001 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th St., Wausau. Rev. Allan L. Slowiak will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Town of Kronenwetter. Friends may call Friday from 3 p.m. until the time of services at the 6th Street funeral home.
