Alvin J. Edenhofer
79, Wausau, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at North Central Health Care, Wausau.
He was born June 4, 1930 in Wausau, son of the late Alexander and Ella (Deininger) Edenhofer.
Alvin worked as a factory supervisor in the shipping department of the former Wausau Metals. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. He volunteered as a driver for the Commission on Aging and enjoyed gardening, building things out of wood and drafting, designing his own home.
Survivors include his children, June Edenhofer, Fla., Linda Chinault, Wash., Jeff Edenhofer (fiancAC. Mary Green), Milwaukee, Denise Edenhofer, Wausau and Ellen Mickalik, Oak Creek; grandchildren, Chrisanne Wisniewski, Nick (Ticia) Wisniewski, both of Wash., Jacob Edenhofer, Milwaukee, Kim Rasmussen, South Dakota, Bill Rasmussen, Katie Rasmussen, both of Oak Creek ; siblings, Eleanor Cole, Mass., Doris Garcia, Colo., Donald (Bernice) Edenhofer, Okauchee, Alice Hable, Birnamwood and Marion Schroers, Schofield, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau and again Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
