Alois "Younga" Seubert, 103, Marathon, died Friday, May 1, 2009 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born October 31, 1905 to the late John and Frances (Beyer) Seubert in the Town of Cassel. On June 8, 1931 he married Esther Dehlinger at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She preceded him in death June 11, 1994.
In his younger years he worked as a logger in Upper Michigan. Later, after various jobs, he worked as an automobile mechanic for Nuxoll Chevrolet. His passing ends a longtime benefactor of St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon and St. Anthony Retreat Center.
Alois loved fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Seubert and Sr. Charlotte Seubert FSPA and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six sisters and two brothers.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 700 Market Street, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the church where at 4:00 p.m. a rosary service will be held. Visitation will resume at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.
