Alma E. Semerau Alma Edna Semerau (nee Artus) of Marathon. Died Monday September 20, 2010 at the age of 93 years, at Park Hills Assisted Living, Hales Corners, WI. Loving mother of Sharon (Robert) Pless of Princeton, WI; Gary (Jacqueline) Semerau of Marathon; Audrey (Vaughn) Pengelly of Franklin, WI; and Paulene (Douglas) Orton of Green Bay. Proud and loving grandmother to Stacy (Eric) Steinbach of Racine, WI; Holly (Jay) Totzke of Rib Mountain; Ryan (Lucie) Semerau of Milwaukee, WI; Kyle, Kelsey and Michael Semerau of Marathon; Michelle (fiance' Adam Breunig) Pengelly, of Minneapolis, MN and Heather Pengelly of Franklin, WI; and Leah and Marcus Orton of Green Bay, WI. Loving great-grandmother to Emma, Ethan and Sadie Steinbach, Madelyn and Aiden Totzke and Conor Semerau. Dear sister of Gertrude Reiche of Wausau, John Artus of Marathon, Wallace (Elaine) Artus of Marathon, and sister-in-law of Marvel Artus of Rib Falls and Beridella Bischoff of Waterford, WI. Further survived by many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death on April 2, 1980 by her beloved husband, Elmer Reinhart Semerau. They celebrated 36 years together and were married on October 23, 1943 in Rib Falls. Also preceded in death by her sister, Alice Baumann and brother, James Artus and parents. Alma was born on September 15, 1917 in the Stettin Township, the daughter of John and Emma (Hilmershausen) Artus. Visitation at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 300 Walnut Street, Marathon on Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1008 No. 120th Ave., Wausau, WI 54401. Visitation will be on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery with a luncheon to follow.
