Alma Burmeister
91, 5306 N. 152nd Ave., town of Stettin, died Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
Alma was born June 30, 1911 in the town of Berlin, daughter of the late William and Martha (Altman) Krenz. On January 4, 1941, she married Ervin Burmeister at her parents home. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1995.
Alma and her husband, farmed in the town of Stettin. She was a charter member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rib Falls and their Ladies Aid in which she held various offices. Among her favorite things to do besides cooking and going to Zion Ladies Aid meetings, she enjoyed feeding the calves.
Survivors include her children, Alda Burmeister, Alvin Burmeister and Leila Burmeister all of the town of Stettin; one sister, Norma Krenz, Wausau; one brother, Gilbert (Anita) Krenz, town of Berlin; two brothers-in-law, Henry (Barbara) Burmeister, town of Berlin and Martin (Jean) Burmeister, Athens; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Erna Prindle, Angela Seidler and Hertha Strei and one brother, Martin Krenz.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2003 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, town of Rib Falls. Rev. Terry Reich will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, town of Stettin. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again from 1:00 p.m. Monday until the time of services at the church.
