Allen Mieritz

Allen Mieritz 67, P.O. Box 1345, Wausau, Wisconsin, 54402, died Saturday February 1, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. He was born March 4, 1935 in Milwaukee, son of the late Wilmer J. and Gertrude (Felske) Miertiz. On April 7, 1956 he married Roberta S. Matthews in Chicago, Illinois. She survives. Allen and Roberta owned and operated a construction company in Northern Illinois prior to moving to Dorchester in 1973. They ran a dairy farm there and Allen retired as a construction superintendant most recently with Miron Construction. Among his favorite things to do were spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and overseeing large construction projects. He also enjoyed going up north, boating as well as farming. Survivors include his wife, Roberta S. Mieritz, Wausau, one daughter, Vicki (Thomas) Resech, Hatley, one son, Craig (Susan Leach) Mieritz, New York, grandchildren, Jereme (Erika) Resech, Fox Lake and Justin C.S. Resech, Hatley, one brother, Gerald Mieritz, McHenry, Ill., one sister, Shirley Boatright, Jacksonville, Fla. Memorial services will be Noon Saturday February 8, 2003 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Rothschild. Rev. Richard Block will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Allen's name by the family.
