Allen “Al” Burmeister, age 71, of Little Chicago, Wisconsin, passed away on December 20, 2025, at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau.
He was born on March 11, 1954, in Wausau, to Barbara (Williamson) and Henry Burmeister. Allen farmed alongside his parents in his early years, and his entrepreneurial nature later led him to start several businesses including ginseng farming.
Allen enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including good food and good stories. He loved playing sheepshead and dominoes with family and friends, spending time visiting with others, and attending live music whenever he could. Above all he loved his daughters and he cherished time spent with them and their mother, Mary, with whom he remained close. He valued conversation and community, and he will be remembered for the time he shared with those around him.
Survivors include his daughters, Breanna Burmeister and Leah Burmeister; former spouse, Mary Kickbusch; his sister, Helen (Robert) Kuklinski; sisters-in-law, Suzanne and Rene’e Burmeister; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gary and Robert Burmeister.
