Allan L. Crabb

Allan L. Crabb 59, Marathon, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston, under the care of Ministry Homecare Hospice. He was born May 16, 1948 in Wisconsin Rapids, son of the late Lawrence and Agnes (Marach) Crabb. On September 5, 1970, he married Ann Spencer in Wisconsin Rapids. She survives. Allan worked for Menzner Lumber Company and for Marathon Elementary School. He was also Chairman of the Utility Board for the Village of Marathon. Among his many interests, he enjoyed Nascar racing, fishing, his trips to the cabin in Mercer and really enjoyed his dogs and feeding the birds and squirrels in his yard. Spending time with his family was the most important part of his life. Survivors include, his wife, Ann Crabb, Marathon; his daughter, Sarah (Matthew) Kohlbauer, Brooklyn, Wis.; one sister, Geraldine (Clarence) Pierce, Wisconsin Rapids; one brother, John (Nancy) Crabb, Plover; his father-in-law, Dever (Peggy) Spencer, Stevens Point; one sister-in-law, Sarah (Gino Baldarotta) Spencer, Madison; two brothers-in-law, Peter (Connie) Spencer, Stevens Point and Mark (Sandra) Spencer, Kansas City, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Mark Crabb; one sister, Romelle Hoefs; and his mother-in-law, Catherine Spencer. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until time of services at the church.
