Alice M. Twomley
97, Wausau, died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
She was born February 21, 1912 in Greenwood, Ill. daughter of the late Orien and Dora (Norton) Blanchard. On April 10, 1935 she married Howard Twomley in Woodstock, IL. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1977.
Alice was a homemaker who lived on dairy farms in Greenwood until 1952 when she moved to a farm in Sharon, Wisc. In 1989 she moved to Wausau, Wisc. to be closer to her daughter, Shirley. She was a member of the Hill toppers and the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include her daughter, Shirley (Raymond) Thums, Wausau; three grandchildren, Keith Thums, Wausau, Paul (Renee) Thums, Prairie du Sac and Dr. Kristen (Matthew) Rahn, Weston; five great grandchildren, Anna, Skyler, Joshua, Zachary and Bethany.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Hunt.
Graveside services were held Monday, February 1, 2010 at Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, Wausau, Wisc. or the Wesley United Methodist Church, Wausau, Wisc.
