Alice M. Sillars, 80, Schofield, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born July 8, 1935 in Chicago, to the late Edward and Lillian (Knaak) Bishop. On March 19, 1955 she married Franklin Sillars in Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1999.
Alice was a homemaker and proudly raised her five children. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, painting and volunteering at Mount View Care Center. Alice will always be remembered for being very generous to anyone in need and also for the love she shared with her pets over the years.
Survivors include her children, Mary (Charlie) Black, Manassas, Virginia and Mark (Jerene) Sillars, Port Edwards, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one brother and three sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her children, Tina, Karen and Lynn and numerous brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, Wausau. The Rev. Rachel Wann will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
