Alice J. Lemke

Alice J. Lemke, 86, died Saturday, June 18, 2005 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born April 5, 1919 in Milwaukee to the late Victoria Kuharski. On November 20, 1941, she married Robert C. Lemke in Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1990. For many years, Alice worked as a registered nurse for the Wausau Visiting Nurses Association, until her retirement. She was a member of the Catholic Woman's Club, and St. Rita's Circle and St. Catherines Council at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Survivors include, two sons, Robert T. (Nancy) Lemke, Wausau and Ron A. (Cheryl) Lemke, Alpena, Mich.; one daughter, Kathleen M. (Terry) Rossi, Springfield, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Michael, Melessa, Kim, Rebecca, Dominic, Elizabeth and Ashley; six great grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney, Victoria, Tahara, Cheyenne and Madeline; two sisters; one brother; and two sons-in-law, Larry Barbknecht, Ind. and Chuck Boardman, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her daughter, Barbara; and two sisters. The funeral mass will be celebrated 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Tuesday, from 6:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Hospice House or Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
