Alice B. Koppa, 91, formerly of Wausau, died Wednesday January 7, 2015 at Oakridge Gardens, Menasha, with her granddaughter Debbie by her side.
She was born May 7, 1923 in Schofield, daughter of the late Randolph and Marie (Darrin) Westberg. On August 14, 1942, she married Edward J. Koppa at the former St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on January 26, 1995.
Alice was a professional nanny for over 30 years.
She cared for many children in her home and they lovingly referred to her as "Grama". Alice was a member of the Rosary Confraternity, a member of the PCCW and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Wausau.
Survivors include, three children, Kathleen M. Maloney, Appleton, Karen Lee (Robert) Ristow, Wausau and Thomas E. (Jean) Koppa, Sun Prairie; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Carl (Mary Jane) Westberg, Merrill and one sister, Nancy Sprotte, Appleton. Besides her parents and husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by one son, John C. Koppa, a son-in-law, Edward Maloney, brother, Russell Westberg and a sister, Joan Westberg.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon, Monday January 12, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
