Alice J. Grob

Alice Grob, 73, Biloxi, Miss., and formerly of Wausau and Deerfield, Wis., passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at Biloxi Regional Medical Center, Biloxi, after a sudden illness. She was born May 31, 1930 in Wausau daughter of the late Anton J. and Clara J. (Arndt) Czerwinski. Alice worked as a CNA at Marathon County Health Care Center for 17 years prior to her retirement. She was a much-loved rural paper carrier for the Record Herald for many years. After retiring she moved to Deerfield where she made many dear friends. She lived in the Deerfield area for 14 years then decided to move south again to be near her sons in the Biloxi area. She was full of life and loved adventure and travel. She saw her first Mardi Gras Parade this year, caught 515 strings of beads and promptly mailed them all to friends and family. She traveled as far as a day would take her and marveled at the people, the plants and the wildlife she saw. Survivors include two sons, Charles Grob, Thomas (Patty) Grob, all of Biloxi; one granddaughter Elizabeth, New Jersey; three sisters, Violet (John) Winchell, Hazelhurst, Wis., Catherine (Ray) Czech, Fort Atkinson, Wis.; one brother Anton (Eldine) Czerwinski Jr., Wausau, many nephews, nieces, and her two special friends Judy and Carol, Deerfield. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 29, 2004 in the chapel at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Entombment will be in Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the cemetery chapel.
