Alfred "Fritz" O. Wesenick, 73, Wausau, entered eternal life on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital with his wife by his side.
He was born January 18, 1943 in Wausau, son of the late Albert and Seline (Isaccson) Wesenick. On October 30, 1965 he married Diane Raymond at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wausau. She survives.
Fritz served his country in the National Guard and worked as a millwright for MBX Packaging, the former Marathon Box. He could fix anything and was always available to help anyone that needed it. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and being out in the woods cutting trees. Maple syrup season was a special time with the help of his children, grandchildren and friends. Fritz and his wife enjoyed several trips out West as well as a cruise to Alaska. In retirement, he served as a trustee at Bethany Lutheran Church, Aniwa.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; the five beautiful children they were blessed with; Jason (Dawn), Jared (Robin), Charles "Chuck" (Jenna), Stacy (fiancAC. Tyler Groshek) and Sarah Wesenick, all of Wausau; eight grandchildren, Robin (fiancAC. Tyrel Grunhaupt) Wesenick, Wyoming, Ryan, Rebeka, Casey, Callie, Samuel and Quinnlynn Wesenick and Tayton Groshek; siblings, Sylvia Herzog, Marjorie Hollman, Evelyn (Bob) Kurth, Bernard (Gladys) Wesenick, and Shirley (Lyle) Krueger; brother-in-law, Clyde (Karen) Raymond; sister-in-law, Florence Wesenick; step father-in-law, Raymond Wisnewski, all of the Wausau area; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward, his father-in-law, Clyde Raymond and mother-in-law, Lucille Raymond-Wisnewski.
Memorial services will be Noon on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Bethany Lutheran Church, E19431 Church Road, Aniwa. Rev. Gary Froseth will officiate. Visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Aspirus Cancer Center for the compassionate care given as needed over the past 17 years; and to the Aspirus Hospital staff for the special care given to Fritz and his family during his final days.
