Alfred W. Peter

Alfred "Al" W. Peter, 74, Wausau, died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born September 2, 1932 in Deer Creek, Wis., son of the late Henry and Freida (Weinke) Peter. Alfred farmed in Wisconsin for many years and retired as a truck driver. Among his many interests, he enjoyed fishing. Survivors include, six children, Robert (Jackie) Peter, Wausau, Carol (George) Michalski, Wausau, Bruce Peter, Kronenwetter, Karen (Norbert) Albrecht, Athens, Diane (Kurt) Mehre, Schofield and Christine (Andrew) Laurent, Rothschild; 18 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his former wife, Verna Peter, Rothschild; and one sister, Elaine (Leonard) Gumz, Colby. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Kevin Albrecht; and one sister, Adeline Fiedler. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Dennis R. Creswell will officiate. Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery, Dorchester.
