Alexander Kwiatkowski
81, Schofield, died Saturday morning, October 22, 2005 under palliative care at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Alex was born July 25, 1924, the eighth of 11 children born of John and Rose (Ross) Kwiatkowski in Wausau.
On April 22, 1950 Alex married Elva Mae Rougeaux in Dearborn, Michigan. She preceded him in death in 1968.
Prior to his retirement Alex had worked for Chicago Pneumatic for many years. He enjoyed handcrafting wood decorations for the yard, garden and home. Alex also enjoyed conversations concerning current events as well as historical events.
Alex served in the US Army Air Force during World War II from November 1942 until 1952 receiving numerous commendations and medals. Alex was a proud member of the 320th Bombardment Group, 441st Squadron. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388, Wausau and was a Past Commander of Post No. 134 in Dearborn, Michigan.
Survivors include his son Paul (Paulette) Kwiatkowski and his grandchildren Alicia and Ted Kwiatkowski all of Dearborn, Mich., along with his sister, Caroline Kwiatkowski, Wausau. Alex is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and wife Alex was preceded in death by his son Mark, his siblings, Clara, Bernard, David, Edward, James, John Jr., Louis, Myrtle and Walter.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home.
