Alexander L. Kostka

Alexander L. Kostka 91, 1730 Porter Street, Wausau, died Friday, July 15, 2005 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at his home. He was born December 31, 1913 in Wausau, son of the late Leo and Emma (Gorski) Kostka. On December 31, 1938 Alexander married Dorothy Haufschildt in Wausau. She survives. Prior to his retirement Alex was a deputy sheriff for the Marathon County Sheriffs Department. Some of Alex's favorite pastimes were traveling, woodworking, taking the grandchildren out fishing, coin collecting and carpentry work. Alex proudly served his country in the United States Army. Survivors besides his wife Dorothy Kostka, Wausau include his children, Bonnie (Mark) Hodge, Wausau and Terrence (Sandra) Kostka, Rhinelander, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one brother Albert (Edna) Kostka and one brother-in-law, Lawrence Schnieder, both of Wausau. Besides his parents Alex was preceded in death by three sisters. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1719 N. 3rd Avenue, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Kingdom Hall and again immediately following the services.
