Aleda Laporte

Aleda LaPorte 98, 1008 South 41st Street, Wausau passed away Wednesday evening, September 12, 2001, with her family, at the home of her daughter, under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services. Aleda was born February 19, 1903, daughter of the late Peter and Josephine DeHooghe. She was raised in Gladstone, Michigan. On January 30, 1923, she married Ernest LaPorte in Gladstone, Michigan and the couple moved to Schofield. He preceded her in death May 25, 1972. Aleda was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time in her kitchen. Survivors include 1 daughter, Lorry LaPorte, Wausau, 2 sons, Pierre LaPorte, Crestwood, New York and Bernard (Sharon) LaPorte, St. Germain, 3 grandchildren, Kathy (Dale) Ruenger, Ringle, Gino Fabiano, Madison and Jim (Lee Ellen) Fabiano, Ramsey, Minnesota and 4 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Ernest, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie, one sister and four brothers. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2001 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service 7 p.m. Friday at the 6th Street funeral home. The family would like to thank everyone at Comfort Care & Hospice Services, as well as all the nurses and volunteers for the outstanding care given to Aleda.
