Aldine Lewandowski

Aldine Lewandowski 88, Wausau, died Thursday September 28, 2006 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born April 6, 1918, in Wausau, daughter of the late Frank and Pauline (Behnke) Zahn. On November 30, 1939 she married Alexander Lewandowski at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death June 5, 1997. Aldine was a homemaker and had previously been employed at Marathon Electric and Marathon Battery. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of great joy for her and she also enjoyed flower gardening. Survivors include two children, Dennis (Anita) Lewandowski and Susan (Ervin) Draeger, all of Wausau, five grandchildren, Renee (Carl) Makuch, Verona, Randal (Stephanie) Lewandowski, Wausau, Rodney (Kim Waldman) Lewandowski, Madison, Ryan Lewandowski, Minnetonka, Minn., Debra (Shannon) Baumann, Green Bay, eight great grandchildren, Ariana, Declan, Maxwell, Brendan, Steven, Molly, Leora, Jenna and a sister, Doris Hintze, Schofield. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday September 30, 2006 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Josaeph Gyim-Austin will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Name Parish or to Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Wausau Manor Nursing Home and Aspirus Wausau Hospital for the fine care given to Aldine.
