Alan "Ray" Welch

Ray Welch, 60, of Wausau, passed away suddenly, but peacefully at home on Sunday, August 4, 2024.  He was born on July 3, 1964 in Washington state.

He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and sitting around the fire pit with friends and family.  Ray always said he loved his life, and we should not mourn his loss, but send him off with a bang.  We will honor his wishes by serving his favorite foods and beverages.  No one should wear black.  There will be lots of hugs, kisses, and memories being shared.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Pam (Litzer); loving daughter, Becka Sue (Ques) Alexander of Wausau; son-in-law, David; his pride and joy, grandson, Logan Ray Alexander; two step-grandchildren, Vanessa and Gavin Alexander; mother-in-law, Nancy Litzer of Marathon; two siblings, Marty Garner (Vince) and Wayne, both of Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Julie Doyle of Wausau and Jannette Wendtland of Marathon; three brothers-in-law, Doug Fry of Arizona, Donald S. Litzer (Sarah) of Merrill, and Carter Litzer (Rosalie) of Marathon; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odess Welch and Georgianna (Sue) Davis; step-father, Jim Davis; father-in-law, Donald J. Litzer; sister-in-law, Paula Fry; and brothers-in-law, John Doyle and Jerry Wendtland.

Ray was a great friend to all and was loyal to a fault.

Ray and Pam both worked at Willow Springs.  Ray loved the people there and loved Peggy and Dennis’ vision.  Instead of flowers please make a donation to Willow Springs Gardens to keep the dream going.

A celebration of life will be on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Willow Springs Gardens Round Barn, 6905 North 60th Avenue, Wausau, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
