Alan Earl Heinrich

Alan E. Heinrich, age 82, Wausau, died Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born February 28, 1931, in Wausau, son of the late Earl and Alice (Pauls) Heinrich. On December 25, 1958, he married the love of his life, Betty Heinrich, in Wausau. They were married 54 years until she preceded him in death on April 14, 2013. Alan proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and the United States Air Force. He worked for 38 years as a welder at Weyerhauser until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and gambling, but only when the coins still came out as winnings. Survivors include his sister, Leeann (Terry) Burton, Weston; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Joe) Soley, Blake (Sandy) Burton and family, Bradley (Cheri) Burton and family, Scott (Amy) Burton and family, Jeff (Linda) Manthe and family, all of the Wausau area and Carla (Denny Sauer) Manthe, and Lynne (Randy) Zaborac, both of Nevada, Terry Kopp, Nevada, and Debby (Gregory) Minter, Arizona, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wife, Betty, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Manthe. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2013 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Larry Treece will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Peterson and Dr. Brian Smith as well as the staff at Aspirus Regional Cancer Center. A special thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at Aspirus Oncology who took special care of Alan in his final days.
