Alan R. Denfeld
64, 3006 Dove Ave., Wausau, died Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.
He was born March 14, 1938 in Wausau, son of the late Raymond and Edna (Ferries) Denfeld. On May 14, 1960, he married Janette Springer at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. She survives.
Alan had been employed as a gas fitter with Wisconsin Fuel and Light for 25 years, prior to his retirement.
After retirement, Alan took up woodcarving as a hobby which he pursued with a passion. The proceeds from his woodcarvings were donated to the Christians Children's Fund. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, playing guitar and singing.
Survivors besides his wife, Janette, Wausau; include four daughters, Linda Denfeld, Wausau and her daughters, Lilah & Ellice; Tammy (Randy) Barthels, Wausau and their children, Rebecca, Brad and Adam; Loralyn Malone, Irma and her daughters, Stephanie, Jennifer and Lilly; Sheryl (Chris) Loos, Schofield and their children, Brittney, Zachary and Randy; his siblings, Phillip (Grace) Denfeld, Florida, Sharon (Tom) Knoeck, Wausau, Judy (Bob) Carroll, Hatley, Michael (Roxie) Denfeld, Marathon and Brian (LaRae) Denfeld, Wausau; one sister-in-law, Jean Denfeld, Mosinee.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Denfeld.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Saturday, February 15, 2003 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
