Adolph 'Sonny' Bittner

Adolph "Sonny" Bittner 85, 611 Lazy Acre Rd., Wausau, died Sunday December 8, 2002 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. He was born May 21, 1917 in Milwaukee, son of the late Anton and Margaret (Lepak) Bittner. On May 16, 1939 he married Dorothy Schreiber at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. He farmed in Mosinee and Marathon area, then prior to his retirement, he had been employed at 3M, Wausau. He was a charter member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Sonny was an expert carpenter and an avid fisherman. He enjoyed camping, playing cards and traveling. Spending time with his grandchildren was special to him. Survivors besides his wife, Dorothy, include his children, Dennis "Bill" (Sue) Bittner, Grand Rapids, Minn., Judy (Jim) Thurs, Mosinee, Gerry (Chuck) Parsch, Weston, Jackie (George) Schoeder, Wausau, Tom (Kay) Bittner, Wausau and Mike (Jill Tyler) Bittner, Wausau, 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three sister, Madeline Gollubske, Wausau, Lillian Schreiber, Mosinee and Frances Schreiber, Wausau. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Weds. December 11, 2002 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Friends may call on Weds. From 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
