Adeline M. Schroeder

Adeline M. Schroeder 93, formerly of 814 W. Thomas St., Wausau, died Wednesday January 14, 2004 under the care of Comfort Care & Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born May 30, 1910 in Fenwood, daughter of the late George and Clara (Krzmarcik) Wetterau. On May 30, 1936, she married Edmund W. Schroeder at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1979. Adeline graduated from the Edgar High School and the Marathon County Normal School. She then taught for nine years at rural schools in the Edgar area. After teaching, she was a homemaker. Adeline was a charter member of the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus and a charter member of the St. Catherine Council, serving as their first secretary. She was also a member of the Ministry of Praise Holy Name Parish. She was a charter member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Edgar and currently was a member of the National Catholic Society of Foresters, St Cecelia Court, Wausau. Survivors include one son, James (Sharon) Schroeder, Wausau; two grandchildren, Karen Schroeder, Wausau and Laurie Schroeder, Stevens Point; one brother, Cliff (Grace) Wetterau, Dorchester; one sister, Geraldine Drengler, Wausau and many nieces & nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Marcella Kuehlman. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon, Monday January 19, 2004 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, Wausau. Rev. Joseph Gyim-Austin will preside. Burial will be in Rerstlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau and again from 10:30 a.m. Monday until time of services at the church.
