Adam W. Sims, 37, Wausau, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born May 5, 1986 in Wausau, the son of Melvin and Bonnie (Marten) Sims of Wausau.
As a teenager, Adam worked at Hilltop Auto dismantling cars for many years. He then tried working at several different jobs in the area, finally landing a job as a maintenance technician at Marth Industries, which was his favorite job.
He enjoyed learning to build demo cars with his Uncle Steve and Uncle Chris. Adam went from building, to driving cars and trucks, to helping others build demo cars. He liked just watching demo’s from the pit area.
Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed fishing with his family, hunting, ice fishing, camping and most of all, spending time with his son, Jaxon.
Survivors include, his son, Jaxon; his parents, Melvin and Bonnie; his brother, Nicholas (Jennifer Martin); his niece, Amelia; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Samuel and Harriet Sims and Roger and Cecelia Marten.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Deacon Ervin Burkhardt will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Uncle Rick and Aunt Sue for helping get Jaxon off to school, and also a special thank you to Uncle Gordy for helping Adam fix things around his home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in being established for his son, Jaxon.
