A. Della Peel Beckman

A. Della Peel Beckman 72, Merrill, died Friday, September 4, 2009 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at her home. She was born March 19, 1937 in Missouri, daughter of the late Alvie and Nola (Lewis) Steward. On September 4, 1953 she married Lyle Peel Sr. in Michigan and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1992. On June 22, 2001 she married Robert Beckman in Merrill. He survives. In 1977 Della and her husband Lyle started running a dairy farm which Della continued to run after Lyle's passing until 1997. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, camping and gardening. Some of her other hobbies included fishing, feeding the birds and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Robert, Merrill; children, Barbara Richardson, Howell, Mich., Beverly (Robert) Mallak, Park Falls, Albert (Pam) Peel, Stratford, Lyle Jr. (Jackie) Peel, Athens, Betty (Tom) Hayden, Seminole, Flor., Joyce (Gary) Johnson, Rothschild and Carol (Russ) Bensel, Morton, Ill.; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; sister, Helen (Don) Schoenemann, Highland, Mich.; brother, Jesse (Star) Steward, Waterford, Mich.; brother-in-law, Jim Hutchinson, Waterford, Mich., and many other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Lyle Sr., she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Hutchinson and a sister-in-law, Jean Steward. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Faith Lutheran Church, 15425 S. County Road K, Merrill. The Rev. Kevin Hoogland will officiate. Burial will be in Athens Village Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
