Walter A. Feltz
86, Edgar, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 2, 1918 in the town of Cassel, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Sadowicz) Feltz. On June 30, 1951, he married Florence Knetter-Paszek at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. She preceded him in death on May 13, 1999.
Walter was a US Army veteran. He was a construction worker for Ellis Stone Company, Steven Point until retiring in 1981. Besides feeding & watching his pet squirrels, listening to polka music, he enjoyed the conversations at the Edgar Coffee Clutch. Walter was known as "Grandpa" to all the kids he knew and cherished the time he spent with his family & grandchildren.
Survivors include six daughters, Tonie Jean (Tom) Napierala, Edgar, Francine (Bill) Sprenger, Marathon, Mary (Kim Dixon) Feltz, Anchorage, Alaska, Geraldine (Hugh) Newman, Edgar, Marlene (Bob) Schaetzl, Schofield and Judy (Duane) Schara, Edgar; two sons, Robert (Cheryl) Feltz, Edgar and Lyle Paszek, Marathon; 23 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one brother, Leonard Feltz, Wausau; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Feltz, Wausau; one brother-in-law, Lloyd Boehm, Stratford.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Steve Newman; one sister, Dorothy Boehm; two brothers, Reynold and Ray Feltz.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2005 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Norman Boneck will preside. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Edgar where military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Sawyer-Drumm Post #393, Edgar. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John Catholic School, Edgar.
