Violet Thatcher, 83, Hatley, died Saturday November 18, 2017 at St. Clare's Hospital, Weston.
She was born August 12, 1934 in Milladore, daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Unertl) Rickl. On November 9, 1953, she married Harold L. Thatcher at St. Kilian Catholic Church, Blenker. He preceded her in death July 29, 2005.
Violet was born and raised on a dairy farm in Milladore, and through the years worked as a waitress, cleaning houses and also for Connor Forest Industries. Among her favorite pastimes were sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include her children, Richard (Barb) Thatcher, Mosinee, Marie (Bob) Blasey, Princeton, Minn., Mark (Celeste) Thatcher, Hatley, David (Johnny) Thatcher, Stoughton, Geraldine (Mike) Davis, Rosewell, Georgia, Charles (Lorrie) Thatcher, Hatley, Kathleen (Russell) Anderson, Hixton, Rebecca (Carl) Tollefson, Langdon, North Dakota, 18 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Gary Stefoneck, three sisters, Irene, Bernice & Rita and two brothers, Sylvon and Clarence.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday December 2, 2017 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. Rev. Greg Bohren will preside. Burial will be in St. Kilian Cemetery, Blenker. Visitation will be on Saturday December 2, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
