Violet M. Duberstein

Violet Marie Duberstein passed away in the early morning hours on December 24th 2019 at Copperleaf Assisted Living in Marathon, WI.  Violet was born on July 17th, 1931 to Joseph and Effie (Childs) Lahr.  Violet was united in marriage to the late Emil Duberstein on February 27th 1954.

Violet was a very quiet loving person. She treated every person with caring and respect, never judging or saying a bad word about anyone.  Violet lovingly took care of her 7 children. In her younger years her children and her garden kept her very busy.  As their children became more independent Emil and Violet bought a cabin on Solberg Lake near Phillips WI.  Summers were filled with family and fun times at the lake.  After Emil passed away the cabin was sold to her oldest child Leonard to be enjoyed by his family. Violet enjoyed putting puzzles together, watching the birds at her feeders, walking on her treadmill every day and shopping each week with her daughters.

Christmas was a special time of year. Each year the family would join together and Violet would celebrate with her growing family at the Cassel town hall. This year was going to be different with each of her children enjoying Christmas with their own families and making their own traditions.  But Violet had different plans for them. One last time she ensured her children would be spending Christmas Eve together.  We gathered one last time with mom to say our goodbyes and remembering our childhood years at a private viewing at Peterson Kraemer Funeral Home in Edgar, WI.

Survivors include her seven children: Leonard (Lorie) Duberstein and his children Randy(Stephanie) Duberstein, Barbara Fry (Paul Dolan), and Bruce(Mandy Jaggers) and step children Will Schmidt and Amanda (Cory) Skilling. Rose Zellner and her children Anthony Campolo and Jason Campolo.  Dennis (Patricia) Duberstein and their children Kimberly Duberstein, Sarah Duberstein and Wesley Duberstein.  James Duberstein  and his children Bill Huebsch, Bryan Huebsch, and Benjamin (Stacey) Duberstein.  Ellen (Todd) Brinkman and their children Steven (Jessica) Brinkman, Bobbie Jo (William) Schara, and Jacob (Emily) Brinkman. Dale (Cassandra) Duberstein and their children Emily Duberstein, David Duberstein and stepdaughter Sarah Burnett.  Robert Duberstein and his children Joseph(Isabel) Duberstein, Tara (Zack) Furger, and Kristin Duberstein. 18 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, and 5 step great-great grand children. Violet is also survived by her siblings Eleanor(Ed) Farrell, Patricia Goss, and Lawrence Lahr, and Julia (Steve) Morey.

Violet was proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Effie Lahr, her husband Emil, siblings Joyce Guillaume, Margaret Hallas, and Vernon Lahr
