Thomas “Tom” L. Goldsworthy, 83, Wausau, died Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born May 13, 1936, in Negaunee, MI, son of the late Clarence and Lila (Piironen) Goldsworthy. On March 26, 1960, he married Jane Kangas at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ironwood, MI. She survives.
Tom was a veteran of the United States Army. In 1968, he began working for Marathon Electric Corp. in Wausau as an electrical engineer where he worked until his retirement in 1999. Among his favorite pastimes, he loved fishing, hunting and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Survivors include, his wife, Jane, Wausau; two children, Paul (Terri) Goldsworthy, Athens and Joan (David) Robarge, Chippewa Falls; eight grandchildren, Randi (Aaron) Felch, Shelby (Joseph) Taylor, Dana (David) Prazuch, Nina Goldsworthy, Janelle (Aleks) Ilyusheva, Julia Robarge, Thomas Robarge and Tyler Robarge; five great-grandchildren, Madalyn, William, Isabelle, Keavi and Harper; one brother, Allen (Barb) Goldsworthy, Arizona; and one sister, Jean Lindberg, Kewaunee.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Joe Shelton will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Full military honors will be conducted following services by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Dudley Post No. 10, Wausau.
