Sandy J. Ament

Sandra J. "Sandy" Ament, 70, Wausau died Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born September 10, 1943 in Wausau, daughter of the late Elmer and Ramona (Boneck) Sward. On April 16, 1977 she married Warren A. Ament at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Rothschild. He survives. After high school Sandy worked at Wausau Insurance Company. For about 10 years she worked at McDonalds in Wausau. The last 13 years Sandy was a homemaker. Sandy enjoyed knitting, sewing, fishing, being with family and playing Farmville on Facebook. Her dog Molly and her cat Mitzy were a very important part of her life. Survivors include her husband, Warren Ament, Wausau, two children, Lisa (Al Bielen) Westberg, Mosinee and Amanda (Joe) St. Amand, Wausau, her grandchildren, Lindsey Westberg, Karissa and Megan St. Amand, one brother, Jimmy (Cindy) Sward, Mosinee and one sister, Kay (Bob) Mohr, Green Bay and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Dalbec, one grandson, Cato Yang and one sister, Pam Felix. The family would like to thank the staff at Rennes Nursing Home for the care they gave Sandy. She made many friends while residing there. Also the family would like to thank the staff on the Aspirus Wausau Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care, compassion and kindness to both Sandy and her family members. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Entombment will be in Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
